Notes of the Business Affairs Committee Meeting

Those present: Rich Brasher (STANTEC), Doreen Sanderson (Tri-City Medical Center), Phyllis Hall (NCTD Staff Support), Ellen Roundtree, (NCTD Intergovernmental Affairs Officer), Lance Schulte, (NCTD Economic Development Administrator)

I.   Call to Order

     The meeting began at 9:10 am.

II.  Old Business

Financial status:

A.
Bank balance as of December 7, 2008 $1,872.00

B.
Constant Contact renewal for 2 years has been paid through the sponsorship from Downtown Business Association of Escondido

III. New Business

A. North County Business Expo

TABNC will sponsor a 1 hour workshop at the Expo. Ted Owen will conduct a 10 minute talk on "How transit is good for your business and the bottom line" during the 1 hour workshop. Rich Brasher will develop the panel discussion for the remainder of the 1 hour workshop that would focus on economic development relating to transit. Doreen Sanderson and Ellen Roundtree will create a list of major employers in the North County region to invite to the Expo. Table Top would include Ridelink representative and possible a member of SANDAG's regional planning group.

B. Psomas sponsorship

C. Guest Speakers

Rich Brasher will contact the Urban Land Institute and the American Planning Association about possibly attending the Expo.

D. Board Positions

A recommendation from Rich Brasher that Doreen Sanderson from Tri-City Medical Center, and Gary Knight from San Diego North County Economic Development Council become TABNC Board members will go before the Board for a vote at the General Meeting on January 24, 2008.
