Notes of the Business Affairs Committee Meeting

Those present: Tom Frankum, Doreen Sanderson (Tri-City Medical Center), Rich Brasher, (STANTEC), Mark Winkler (Winkler & Winkler Real Estate), Phyllis Hall (NCTD Staff Support), Debbie Gianni (NCTD)

I. Call to Order: The meeting began at 9:05 a.m.

II. Old Business

A. Financial Report

• Bank balance as of June 9, 2008 $5,601.75
• APTA grant for $10,000 submitted May 2008, $5,000 to produce a TABNC presentation hosted by Ted Owen, to be shown on KOCT

B. Community Awareness: Rail Safety Video is in production. Video should be complete by August 2008

C. Legislative issues: Letters of support sent:

• The Future of Public Transportation in North San Diego County
• Protect Prop. 42 funding in the FY 2008-09 State Budget
• TABNC members can submit their own letters to legislators through TABNC website

III. New Business

A. Partnerships

• NC Chamber Govt. Affairs Alliance - Mark Winkler

B. Presentations- SANDAG agenda

• Tom Frankum  to develop TABNC presentation on "What is TABNC"

C. Leadership roles

• Richard Hannasch on the Board as NCTD, Advisory Officer
• Tom Frankum to be appointed as volunteer Executive Director at next General Meeting.

D. Technology

• Website update-Pay Pal option will be added to TABNC

E. Outreach

• Dump the pump day 310 new members signed up for TABNC
• Sprinter Ambassadors helped to distribute "Say NO to Transit Budget Cuts" postcards to transit riders. Cards were sent to State Legislators
• Go Green to College –Sprinter Ambassadors to assist with membership drive to start in Fall 2008
• Tom Frankum will assist in creating a PSA for KOCT and local television channels
