Notes of the Communications & Membership Committee Meeting

Those present: Joe Charest (Katz and Associates), Tom Frankum, Sarah Benson (NCTD), Ellen Roundtree (NCTD), Phyllis Hall (NCTD Staff Support), Debbie Gianni (NCTD)

I. Call to Order: Meeting called to order at 9:10 am.

II. Old Business

A.  Business Expo

• 35 new TABNC members were signed up at the Expo

III. New Business

A.  Website

• Changes still be completed on website, should be finished within the next month
• TABNC newsletter to members should be short and concise
• Use E-Alerts to keep members informed on legislative issues
• include link to legislators in the format of the E-Alert as a "call to action" from members

B.  Event opportunities

• Create a TABNC presentation on benefits of transportation to the community
• Committee members rehearse presentation before "taking it on the road"
• Schedule presentation with Regional Planners and Developers organizations and Chamber of Commerce along Sprinter corridor

C.  Publicity, letters to the editor and commentaries

• Ellen Roundtree will draft TABNC letter to Governor on protecting transit funding

IV. Adjurnment: The meeting adjourned at 10:15 am.
