Re: Support full funding of transit

Dear Governor Schwarzenegger and Members of the Senate and Assembly:

While I understand that California is in a difficult fiscal situation, the transit funding cuts being proposed will have a dramatic impact on residents who rely on transit for access to medical services, food, employment and other life sustaining and essential services. And as the aging population increases, there will be an even greater need for transit in the future.

As a trusting California voter, I supported the protection of transportation funding with the passage of Proposition 1A by a 77% margin, demonstrating a strong support for dedicating transportation sales taxes (Prop. 42 funding) to transportation.

Global warming and cost of fuel are very serious issues today and transit provides a solution. Therefore, I urge you to stop any further funding cuts to transit and help preserve quality of life for all California residents.
