Legislation
Transit Alliance members are encouraged to stay informed about legislation that affects transportation in San Diego County and this webpage makes it easy to do the research. Our members learn about Legislative issues through the TABNC Electronic Newsletter located in About Section. Another great way to get informed is by visiting the American Public Transportation Agency and the National Alliance of Public Transportation Advocates websites.
To conduct research on state bills, visit http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/bilinfo.html and then enter the bill number.
To conduct research on federal bills, visit http://thomas.loc.gov/home/bills_res.html.
For questions or further information on bills and items, contact Ellen Roundtree,
Director of Government Relations, at the San Diego Association of Governments,
(619) 699-6960, ero@sandag.org.
Once you've done your research, the next step is to voice your opinion to the appropriate decision makers. Here are some helpful e-mail links to make it easy for you to do.

For a wealth of reasons ranging from better transportation and less traffic congestion to better jobs, the Transit Alliance for a Better North County will continue to provide a strong voice for smart planning in North County. TABNC strives to keep transit issues in the public eye and build support for them. We need your help to do this. Our activities include:
- Public outreach and comment on major transit, transportation and transit-oriented development in North County, including public testimony and media relations
- Web site support and educational information on transit issues and how they affect our North County economy and quality of life.
- Programs with transit leaders and legislators that inform the community and provide forums for public input.
Our sponsors know public transportation is about much more than just reducing traffic congestion. It also is about producing jobs, stimulating the economy, reducing air pollution, creating smart growth and livable communities. The stake is clear and your membership in a contribution to TABNC will provide a critical resource as we continue our work.
Below are some suggested levels of sponsorship. We hope you will consider them and then join us. TABNC strives to be an activist voice for businesses and residents alike. Your sponsorship will help keep that voice loud and strong.
